What is Psychology?

Psychology is a word derived from the Greek psykhe- "breath, spirit, soul" and logia "study of " having the meaning of study of mind. Psychology as a science is an applied academic field trying to understand human behavior, mental processes and interaction with the physical and social world. The observation is essential to determine which treatment will be used. The evolved psychological analysis of biology and philosophy thus derives two psychological concepts. One is the scientist who seeks a causal and concrete explanation and philosophical asking for an explanation of meanings and senses.

We are all in some way because psychologists in our daily life we do what a psychologist does in a laboratory. Observe the behavior of people around us, their reactions, we analyze these observations, theories and seek to establish evidence to support them. There are different schools of thoughts that are emphasized in certain psychological doctrines in particular. These include structuralism, functionalism, psychoanalysis, behaviorism, humanism, cognitivism. You can understand that this science is concerned with addressing issues affecting the spirit, the way of feeling of an individual or a society. It is important to be aware that life is subjective, never a person may behave, feel or current in the same way you would. So I invite you to respect the diversity of thought and interest to understand them.
